What I want from a Mobile Phone
When you have chosen your network provider it can be a royal pain in the proverbial sifting through all the handsets available. Everywhere you look there is media telling you which phone to choose. tv commercials, billboards, radio ads, magazine adverts. Then your friends all have different phones telling you why THEIR phone is the best and getting offended if you don’t agree.
The important thing is to decide what you want the most from your contract phones. This means (and this is very important) what you want your mobile phone for the most. The secondary elements of choice are what you desire the phone to do.
Here is my priority list of expectations from my mobile phone handset/contract:
1. Make and receive calls (obviously!)
2. Receive and send text messages
3. Access the Internet…ok I’ll settle for facebook
4. Take some lovely photographs (on mad nights out which can be posted to facebook with the main aim of embarrasing your mates)
5. Not charge me extra for doing all the above
6. Not dial people by accident when I’m in a particular situation with my lady friend
7. Not look like a brick
8. Not resemble a credit card
9. Not require re-charging after a half hour phone conversation
What I desire from my mobile phone is to watch amusing Google videos. Saying that I certainly wouldn’t pay more or sacrifice my essential list to be able to do all that. I have a computer at home and to be honest watching catch up TV on my phone when I’m at the pub with friends wouldn’t go down too well.
There are several good mobile phone handsets looking around and to be honest it is the leading providers that I prefer to use if only for their wide range of handsets. But they also provide the best service when it comes down to it and they do have the best and most efficient customer care (although some people’s experiences may beg to differ!). My top preferred phone network and handset suppliers are:
3 mobile – Get the latest 3G mobiles, the best in mobile content and services like mobile TV, music downloads and mobile Internet, and connect to the Internet with Mobile broadband.
Nokia – Wide range of mobile phone devices and monthly contract deals and of course the full range of Nokia handsets the second they come onto the market.
